2024 Topps Dynamic Duals: Are they worth the price? First, a quick breakdown of the product. Each box is $200 for 1 dual auto and 2 parallels. This set’s “specialty” is that every card features two players. If you want to know more about the product, and the set, you can find that here. Without further ado, here are the box ratings.
Set Rating: 9/10
In terms of set checklists, this set is the best of the best. With only 80 base cards, and the worst players being brink-all stars, every card is at least decent. The best cards, however, are incredible. From great rookie combinations to dual autos like Jeter/Judge and Trout/Pujols.
Card Quantity: 4/10
Each box of Dynamic Duals has thirty cards which is decent considering that the set is only fifty cards. This is a notable downgrade from past years, where boxes would contain 100% of the set. Next, considering that it is $200 for one dual auto /99 or less and two parallels /50 or less, it is not great value, if you are just seeking out parallels or autos.
Card Quality: 6.5/10
The cards are very clean and nice. They are a refreshingly simple design and have much improved from last year’s. Furthermore, the dual-player concept makes them even more impressive and quality, as no other product does anything like this. On the other hand, they are not nice cards. They are all equally thin, and most autos are sticker autos. This year, instead of including the very high-quality booklets, they replaced them with regular on card autos, which takes away part of the fun in chasing a booklet. Overall, decent quality.
Card Resell: 3.5/10
These cards do not sell for that much considering they are very low-numbered dual autos of well-known players or stars. The card quality is not exceptionally nice, combined with the fact that the boxes are not that expensive for a “high-end” box. Furthermore, these boxes are not iconic or well known cards like Topps flagship designs. These three factors account mostly for the low resell price.
Overall Rating: 8/10
The uniqueness of these boxes combined with the very nice autos and low numbered cards make them desirable breaks. On the other hand, the high price per card cost and lower resell price makes these boxes not necessarily the best boxes to buy and break. In my personal experience (two boxes opened and 12 boxes watched opened) I have seen many low numbered cards pulled, yet very nice autos seem to be elusive. Overall, they are a short but fun break and one I would go back to any day.
